The Clout guide

7. Your subscription

What you are buying, what happens when it runs out, and how to stop. The legal version of all of this is in the Terms and the Refund policy; this chapter says the same things in the order you will meet them, and it does not contradict them anywhere.

What a plan grants

A licence to run Clout while the plan is active, inside three limits:

ProfilesHow many you may keep. Profiles in the trash bin do not count
ComputersHow many may be signed in at once
Team membersHow many people may be on the account

The five plans and their numbers are on cloutlabs.co/pricing, and the same numbers appear in the portal under Subscriptions with meters showing what you are using. If a plan says no limit, that is what it means: no limit, not a very large number.

The software stays ours. What you make with it stays yours.

How you buy

There is no card form anywhere in the product, and we hold no card details.

You tell us what you need on Telegram or at [email protected], we agree the price and how you will pay, and when the payment reaches us an administrator puts the plan on your account. It appears in the portal under Subscriptions straight away, and the limits apply from that moment.

Prices are published, and the portal and the public page read the same catalogue, so the number you were quoted and the number on your account are the same number.

Everything you set up before a plan exists is kept. A new account can create profiles up to the point a limit bites; nothing you build is thrown away when a plan is granted.

Nothing renews on its own

No plan renews automatically, because the product holds no payment method to charge. A plan runs for the period you paid for and then stops being active.

The portal shows this as Access until, with a date. That is the day it stops, not the day something happens to your card, and there is no card.

When the period is coming to an end, tell us and we arrange the next one. Nothing is deducted, nothing is scheduled, and no reminder charges you.

When a period ends

The account goes read only. That is a deliberate state and not a failure: nothing is deleted, nothing is stopped, and everything you already have opens.

The app puts a strip at the top of the window naming the state, and both the app and the portal list both halves of what it means.

What still works

What stops

There is a grace window after a period ends, and the portal shows its date when one is set. Inside it the account is already read only; what the window changes is the tone, not the rule.

Two states that look like a lapse and are not

Stopping

Tell us and we stop. Email [email protected] or message us on Telegram.

There is nothing to cancel in the sense of stopping a charge, because nothing is charging you. What you are asking for is that we do not put another period on the account, and what happens to money already paid is the refund policy.

Refunds

The whole policy, and it is short:

How to ask. Email [email protected] from the address on your account, or message us on Telegram from the account you signed in with. Say which payment you mean and what went wrong. We answer every request. The money goes back the way it came to us, and because there is no card on file, if that route cannot take it we will ask you where to send it.

If you have not heard from us in five working days, send it again on Telegram. A request that goes unanswered is our fault, not a refusal.

Getting your data out, and being deleted

Both are available at any time, whether or not you have a plan.

A copy of your data. Ask us and we send it. Inside the app you can also export profiles and their cookies yourself, one at a time or in bulk, which is the fastest route if what you want is the profiles rather than a record of the account.

Deleting the account. In the portal, open Account and use Delete this account. It is not a message to us; it does the thing.

Before anything happens you are shown counts of what will go: browser profiles, proxies, computers, groups, tags, folders, saved sign-ins, extensions, teammates. These are the real row counts, produced by the same code that carries out the deletion, so what the dialog says is what will happen rather than an estimate of it.

To confirm, you type your account id, and if you have two factor authentication enrolled you complete it. The id rather than a word like DELETE, because a typed word is the same for every account and a mis-wired script that deletes the wrong one still works.

Two things it is worth knowing before you press it:

Backups. Deletion removes you from the live database immediately. Backups are kept for 14 days, with one copy a month kept for up to 400 days, and your data goes from each as that backup expires. We do not reach into a backup to remove one account, because a backup that has been edited is a backup nobody can trust to restore. That is the trade, and it is stated in the Privacy policy in the same words.

If we suspend an account

We can suspend an account that breaks the terms. We will tell you why, and you can get your data out. Suspension is not deletion and nothing is destroyed by it.
