Moving from AdsPower without losing a fingerprint
How the AdsPower import works, what it keeps, what to check, and how your scripts carry on.
Most agencies that come to Clout Browser already run hundreds of profiles somewhere else, usually AdsPower. The question is never whether the new browser is good; it is whether the move will cost them the accounts that took months to age. This is how the move works, and what to check before you trust it.
The import uses the session you already have
Open Import profiles from the register toolbar. Clout looks for AdsPower on the computer and lists the profiles of the account that is signed in there. You do not create an AdsPower API key for this: the import uses the session already on the machine. If the dialog asks you to open AdsPower and sign in, do that and choose Check again.
Nothing is selected to start with. Pick the groups or profiles you want and press Import. Profiles that are already in Clout are marked Already here, so a second pass adds what is missing instead of overwriting rows that work.
AdsPower profiles are not converted
A profile that comes from AdsPower keeps AdsPower’s launch format and opens with SunBrowser, the same engine. Clout downloads SunBrowser itself, and if AdsPower is installed it also checks AdsPower’s engine folder for builds it can use. Because nothing is translated, the surfaces sites fingerprint (canvas, WebGL and audio) read as they did before.
That is not true of every source. Profiles from Dolphin Anty, Multilogin or GoLogin are converted into the same format, and canvas, WebGL image and audio noise are engine-specific, so those three change. Kameleo profiles keep their own format and open with Kameleo’s Chroma engine. The browser engines guide explains the routing.
Check one profile before you move the rest
- Close the source profile first, so its latest browser data has been saved.
- Import a few profiles, not the whole account.
- Open one and check its fingerprint, its proxy and that it is still signed in.
- Keep AdsPower installed until you are satisfied.
Cookies come across where the source provides them. A copied cookie jar can still hold an expired session, which is why the check matters more than the import.
Your scripts keep working
Clout Browser serves a Local API on your computer. Its v1 routes match AdsPower’s: start, stop and list browsers, and manage users and groups. Point your scripts at Clout’s address and API key and they carry on. For anything new, v2 is the clearer choice, and cloutctl import adspower-pull does the same import from a terminal.
What it costs
The same number of profiles costs at least 75% less: 100 profiles are $9 a month against AdsPower’s $36, and 1,000 are $49 against $202. Quarterly and yearly billing take more off, and the first payment is refundable in full for 14 days.
